Defective unit? Dissapointed.
Not sure if we bought a defective one but two of the triangles won't stay down, so it opens up immediately and popcorn pops all over the microwave. This is basically useless. We put a silicone cover over it but it limits the amount of popcorn we can make since the cover won't let it open at all. I'd be better off popping it on the stove or in a paper bag or something. I had so much hope for this and the reviews are great but this just doesn't work. It's too bad.

Make healthier, homemade microwave popcorn for yourself or for the whole family in just minutes. Constructed completely from BPA-free, high-heat resistant silicone, the fun design of this reusable maker unfolds as kernels pop. Simply add kernels to the fill line, add oil (or don't. It's still tasty), close tabs, microwave for 2 - 3 minutes and delight in the top opening as the popcorn pops. Leave for one minute in the microwave before removing. Safety tabs are incorporated into the side of the Poptop to keep fingers safe from hot steam when removing from the microwave. Add melted butter to popcorn after popping. Poptop makes up to 10 cups of popped popcorn. Pop-top folds up for compact, easy storage. Dishwasher safe. Not for use with convection microwave ovens
Makes nothing but a mess
This was the WORST present I've ever given someone...it doesn't work, despite what a national magazine claimed. I gave this as a Father's Day Gift and my husband just tried using it. Even after two attempts, all it did was make a complete mess (photo attached)
Brown Bag just as good & costs less!
Tried a friend's. I wouldnt waste my money on it. Listen folks, a brown paper bag gets the job done just as easily and no messy clean up. Throw out the bag. To Pop: Fill bottom of brown paper bag with kernals, fold down the top twice, seal with small piece if scotch tape, place bag in microwave and pop as you would any other bowl or this product. About 2 to 2.5 minutes. Brown bags are free at most stores or buy a bunch at any supermarket.
