They painted a lovely picture and had me sold with the "Italian Excellence" of this product. Furthermore, there are questions that have been answered by other Amazon users about this toaster. One person has answered the question "where is it made" with Italy. My box clearly states MADE IN CHINA!!! So I'm a little less enthusiastic about it than I was initially, when I took the plunge and bought a $70 toaster, haha. The toaster is beautiful, and working fine, but I really wanted "Italian Excellence". I was enticed to pay a premium price for this product based on the product info and the Amazon user reply. I will pay more for a product that is not made in China, with the expectation that it will be of better quality. I liked it and used for a long time I used to have the same device in Australia but for 4 slices. I didn't see the 4-slice one in the US, and so bought this one. Looks good, works great, lasts forever, nothing more to add.
