The door handle arrived within a few days. It was the correct part for our microwave. It was somewhat difficult to pull the inside lining off of the microwave- I found a video on YouTube that offered suggestions on how to access the screws that hold the handle. With the door open, unscrew the three screws on the inside of the door. Then, slide a flathead screwdriver (I actually used a butter knife, but a flat putty knife might work even better) under the veneer at the top left corner of the inside of the door and gently "pry" the liner out. It's difficult at the beginning, as there are plastic fasteners every few inches (hidden from view) that hold the door together. (As opposed to the small metal clips that are visible). When the first fastener "popped", I feared I had damaged the door, but it was fine- I was then able to slide my butter knife down the door and pry the fasteners out until the inside lining came out. Color is Stainless Steel.Just what we needed Our microwave handle cracked at the top, and flaked off. This handle was an exact match, and worked great. The only rough part was the installation, which SU#&ed. There's an inner plastic trim surround, also called a choke cover, that surrounds the interior of the door. You have to remove this to get at the fasteners that keeping the two panels of the door together (which hide the screws to the door handle). It WILL crack and crumble as you pry it off the door if your microwave is more than a month old. The plastic is brittle and it's held in place with tabs that can't be accessed. I'd give it 10 to 1 odds yours will break. Order the choke cover/trim surround WITH the door handle so you can do it in one shot. Search the web for instructions - a couple people have done some great write-ups. Not a fun job, but the door handle works like a charm. |
| Exact Replacement at a Bargain Handle arrived on time and undamaged. Packaged very well. Perfect fit. To install was a bear, but if you start removing the inner panel from the hinge side it's possible with out breaking the plastic. |
