As a kind of heat resisting and insulating product. * It is widely used for home appliances such as electric hair-dryer, toaster, microwave oven, warmer etc. * Package Content : 2 x Microwave Oven Mica Plates These are parts for easy microwave repair! Instead of tossing my microwave and buying a new one, I did a little research on why mine was arcing and sparking. The most common issue was this mica plate, that every microwave has in it, was dirty and is not cleanable. The test was to remove mica plate and heat up a cup of water on high. If the water is hot, the microwave is still good. Most, not all, manufacturers do not have this item as a consumer replaceable repair item. You probably will not find this in any big box hardware store. You might find it in a Mom & Pop, maybe. Replacing this item in your microwave is a cinch. Pop out the plastic rivets, maybe unscrew a screw, cut new mica plate to fit the old one, put in holes and install. Viola! Be careful with the plastic rivets, they may break. They are found at hardware stores. Good luck! |
