We are very pleased with the microwave oven and trim kit. The only problem we had installing the trim kit is that the cabinet width opening is wider (28.5") than the top and bottom brackets brackets so we could not secure the brackets to the sides of the cabinet, but did securely screw the bottom bracket to the bottom of the cabinet.The top bracket shoved in securily between the microwave and the top of the cabinet. The bottom center anti-tip brace which connects with the anti-tip bracket holds the microwave securely in place. We were able to screw in the bottom of the trim frame to the bottom bracket, but we had to secure the top part of the trim frame to the cabinet wall with screws we just happened to have, through to the cabinet. The cover is still plenty large enough to cover the cabinet's opening. |

Since we didn't want to spend $1K for a real "built-in" microwave, we bought a counter top LG microwave and then this trim just to make it look nice. The trim piece ordered from Amazon arrived quickly. However, much to my surprise, there were NO instructions whatsoever included. Not sure about other experts out there, but I could only assume that most of us don't put together microwave trims that often. Thus it was quite a struggle. There were just many odd looking pieces and parts that didn't seem to fit well. I was almost tempted to box everything up and send it back. Luckily, a google search yielded some online instructions for this particular model. Still, it was a struggle putting this trim together since my cabinet was much bigger than the mounting plate. | Cheap Plastic Corners What you don't see in the pictures is the plastic corners on this trim kit. I was shocked to open it up and see how cheaply this thing is made. LG conveniently hides the plastic corners in their pictures as they know it looks terrible. I will be returning this product along with the microwave and getting a microwave with a nice looking trim kit. |
