None. Product works perfectly. I usually cook rice for two. I have done it on the stove in a pot with water and in the microwave in a tallish container with a folded paper towel on top, covered with a loose lid. Pan rice can boil over, be underdone, burn, stick to the pan or otherwise get fubarred. Improvised microwave cooker worked, but lots of starchy water ended up outside the container as it boiled and so I needed a plate or bowl under it, making more dishes to wash. It also took longer and required more liquid. This lovely little thing asked for 1 part rice and 2 1/4 parts liquid (I used water this time). I rinsed my 1 cup of rice well and put it in the cooker. I added 2 1/4 cups water and a tsp of veg oil. Covered it, locked it, set it on a plate (not sure what would happen) and set my 1000 watt micro to 15 minutes at 90% power. The lid and paddle are green with a clear base and cup. BPA free and dishwasher safe.Perfect in Any Color... My 4th color I think. Absolutely nothing wrong them, it's me that can't keep ahold of the inner lid, or breaks the lid latches by dropping it on my tile floor. I've been using a rice cooker just like this for nearly 20 years now. Perfect white rice everytime (1 part rice to 2 parts water/broth)... For the smaller 1c/2c,I put in microwave for 15 minutes, for the largest, 2c/4c, I do 18 minutes. Be extremely cautious removing both outer and inner lids, they are steaming hot and will be dripping steaming water as well. Fluff up with a fork and serve. Brown rice - it can be done, I'm getting close. Brown rice requires much more liquid and slower and maybe not as powerful cooking. I do 1c brown rice and 2c water, start at 8 minutes, stir add more liquid, if needed, continue. Brown rice will always be a bit bonier tasting than white rice, much oh so much better for you! |
